Kirk, you've given the housing problem a lot of thought. As you know it's wide spread - not just Bay area. I like the idea of dorms for hi-tech company employees, but that still does little for the fast food workers. This is a problem that private enterprise cannot solve alone - otherwise they would have done so. The most expensive part is the high cost of land here.

Well, we won't solve the problem here, but at least can admit a problem exists.

PS: in 1968 I could buy a modest home in San Jose for about 2 - 3 times my annual salary. That ratio must be a bit higher now.
