Bob, it is neither a hate statement nor a fact in the word.
Our Lord Jesus was not talking to Israel in those scriptures, as you have stated. Our Lord was condemning those who say they are Jews but are not.
Many of the Pharisees and Sadducees were not of the House of Israel no less the House of Judah.! They were certain men that crept in unaware to destroy all that is of God.
Remember the warnings of Jesus:
Matt 16:12
12 Then understood they how that he bade them not beware of the leaven of bread, but of the doctrine of the Pharisees and of the Sadducees.
Mark 7:1-6
1 Then came together unto him the Pharisees, and certain of the scribes, which came from Jerusalem.
2 And when they saw some of his disciples eat bread with defiled, that is to say, with unwashen, hands, they found fault.
3 For the Pharisees, and all the Jews, except they wash their hands oft, eat not, holding the tradition of the elders.
4 And when they come from the market, except they wash, they eat not. And many other things there be, which they have received to hold, as the washing of cups, and pots, brasen vessels, and of tables.
5 Then the Pharisees and scribes asked him, Why walk not thy disciples according to the tradition of the elders, but eat bread with unwashen hands?
6 He answered and said unto them, Well hath Esaias prophesied of you hypocrites, as it is written, This people honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me.
Luke 18:9-14
9 And he spake this parable unto certain which trusted in themselves that they were righteous, and despised others:
10 Two men went up into the temple to pray; the one a Pharisee, and the other a publican.
11 The Pharisee stood and prayed thus with himself, God, I thank thee, that I am not as other men are, extortioners, unjust, adulterers, or even as this publican.
12 I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all that I possess.
13 And the publican, standing afar off, would not lift up so much as his eyes unto heaven, but smote upon his breast, saying, God be merciful to me a sinner.
14 I tell you, this man went down to his house justified rather than the other: for every one that exalteth himself shall be abased; and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
Here again Jesus was speaking to the chief priests...Pharisees and Saducees...not descendants of our brother Judah, but those who said they were Jews.... have you ever done a complete word study on the term...Jews?...And Israel?....Jews(descendants of Judah) were only a part of the House of Israel. Consider Rev.
Rev 7:4-8
4 And I heard the number of them which were sealed: and there were sealed an hundred and forty and four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel...(Including, but not limited to, the tribe of Judah)...
5 Of the tribe of Juda were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad were sealed twelve thousand.
6 Of the tribe of Aser were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nephthalim were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses were sealed twelve thousand.
7 Of the tribe of Simeon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar were sealed twelve thousand.
8 Of the tribe of Zabulon were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph were sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin were sealed twelve thousand.
Only the tribe of Judah = Jews....and they comprise but 1/12 of the House of Israel! All other descendants of the house of Israel were known by the head of the house from which they descended. Ex. Paul was a Benjamite of the tribe of Benjamin....Aaron the brother of Moses, was not a Jew either, but a Levite, of the tribe of Levi As was Moses. Our Savior and Lord Jesus was a Jew as He was a descendant of the tribe of Judah.
Many of the Prahisees and Sadducees were of none of the tribes of Israel but just said they were Jews/tribe of Judah...
Remember Bob all who came from the land of Judea called themselves Jews....But many were not...so who were they,and who are they today, and what difference does it make?....Why did Jesus teach on that subject as much as He did? Why such scathing condemnations of them, by our Lord.
Luke 12:1-3
1 In the mean time, when there were gathered together an innumerable multitude of people, insomuch that they trode one upon another, he began to say unto his disciples first of all, Beware ye of the leaven of the Pharisees, which is hypocrisy.
2 For there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; neither hid, that shall not be known.
3 Therefore whatsoever ye have spoken in darkness shall be heard in the light; and that which ye have spoken in the ear in closets shall be proclaimed upon the housetops.
