LBJ had no military experience. He listened to the generals, who kept telling him that there was NO WAY pissant N. Vietnam could beat the US, all they needed was another year and 100,000 more troops. Every year.

You have to respect LBJ..

He was pretty damn rough on the edges but he was probably the most effective legislator that the U.S. has ever seen.

A lot of Black people seem to credit JFK for things that made their lives better, but it was LBJ that got the Civil Rights Act passed and the Voting Rights Act passed.

He's the ONLY guy that could have done that at that time..
