Mel I was thinking of forming a old timers club (rain) by the it comes to Philly. Actually the stock is put way back in the portfolio. I figure it will take care of itself long term. No longer watching day to day. Not like the first year or two. Now I hope I don't have to eat those words (candlestick). John

I just signed up at a BJ's wholesale Club membership office (offsite from the mall) for a BJ's membership. They said that BJ's would be opening on Sat. Jan 17. (2 weeks away). As far as the rest of the mall - still a lot of work to be done. Temporary signs for Filenes, and Sports Authority are up in sections of the mall. Despite what the reports posted here several months ago said about asphalt company shutdowns, the parking lot paving and lighting was completed (mostly) over the last few weeks. Most of the exteriors are done (except in isolated locations) and the major steel construction is done too. I guess the interiors are next. Most of the ring roads are done too - however, still lots of work on the on/off ramps to major highways (NYS Thruway, Route 59, and Route 303. I would expect that there will be lots of work in the next few months as more and more stores (including Rainforest) open. The mall is currently 1.85 million square feet. The developers are trying to get approval to expand it in the future to 3 million sq feet, however, the local community opposes the expansion (afraid it will drive smaller stores out of business in the community). Pyramid has agreed that if they decide to expand, they will bring it to a public referendum in the future - Time will tell. (end repost) >>>Dennis.....was thinking of one obvious retail item that needs to be made at RAINs in time for the holidays in the future, and if anyone speaks to RAIN in the near future it should be passed along..... RAIN menorahs...eight characters..perfect fit....I was given one from Disney a while back, and it is a perfect display piece, even though never actually used with candles. Maybe the one elevated center(shamas) piece over the other eight should be a little figure of you!?<<<< Maybe Moe can design some scale models of the trees she has reserved for the NPs to use in place of the candles for the RAIN menorahs.
