$64.88 IDE ZIP's!!!

Thanks Leo and Ray. I just ordered one. $64.88 plus $7 S&H!

To order, you'll have to do this:

surplusdirect.com

Then click on "Weekly Specials", find the box for Zip, enter the quantity, and click on
"Add to my Shopping Bag".

Watch for this special to go away quick!

Thanks Mike...If IOM starts doing this on the store/retail level in quantity in 98' with the rampup in production from MCI and NEC, the Sony IMHO is DOA. One of my biggest criticisms of IOM is that if they had the internal Zip in any kind of quantity throughout 97 in stores, they would be way ahead in terms of becoming the standard.
68 bucks!!!! Retail!!! Best news so far this year.

Gary this message in really not intended for you alone.

First let me say that I am a new poster and that I am very long IOM.
With that said I would like to let the group know a fact that I have not seen discussed here. The Iomega tools that you receive with an ATAPI Zip comes on cdrom. I run a computer store and we installed 3 of those puppies today. Why would IOM support a different media in this manner. Seems to me that it is as much as saying that cdrom in the way of the future.

Just my two cents worth.

Re: >>>...why do you think posters that could really be of assistance have decided to be more absent these days?<<<

Gary, I believe that for many of us who have followed IOM and this thread for a long time, there is little motivation to rehash points and issues that have been previously discussed in detail. While they may be interesting to the new folks, it's old news for many of us.

In addition, sometimes I find myself not responding simply because I'm certain someone else with a similar response will.

I would add that the perhaps the holidays cause some to focus on what's more important in our lives.
