Comcast has a 1TB limit on monthly data. If you have the HDTV on most of the day to have news or cnbc or sports on as background then watch good shows in the evening, I think you go well over that... before adding what you need to backup data. So, I think Sling and other over the top services work if you are the occasional viewer but if you really want bandwidth, Satellite is still the way to go.

But it is cost competitive with dsl plus a phone line for internet plus phone and saves $ if you use wifi calling on your cell and just buy the bandwidth pipe for streaming 4K from Dish online.

Currently, when I need bandwidth above dsl, I use my cellphone and its 7GB of hotspot per month.

Often I think I'm just too much an engineer and should just pay the price and get the best for each since I really can afford it... that is keep a hard line AT&T phone, our two unlimited T-Mobile phones, get comcast just for fast internet and even keep my Earthlink dsl for awhile to make sure I can switch over.
