It's all a question of how you define yourself. The Democratic Party has a left wing and a centrist wing. Since Reagan, the Party has moved to the Center because it felt it could not win on a Leftist platform. That notion needs to be reconsidered as a result of the Bernie Sanders candidacy. Sanders polled a lot stringer than Hillary did against Trump, but the DNC didn't care. Why? The Democratic Party is full of establishment hacks who have excluded working people. You can even see this on SI where the two main Democratic threads are full of bans, like the DNC: Subject 55719 Subject 55094 Aristotle was a stuck up aristocrat who couldn't give a chit about the average person. His value lies in his Metaphysics, Physics, Ethics and Categories. And the same holds for Plato, his teacher. There was nothing trustworthy or noble about Trump. He won because he entered a dialogue with working people and offered solutions to their questions. Hillary offered nothing. She didn't even engage in dialogue. <<There is nothing courageous on the part of a leftist to bash Trump or the Republicans>> You define yourself in part by contrasting your views in relation to others. Donald Trump did a very good job bashing every challenger, Republican or Democrat, along the way to victory. When you think outside the Mainstream, you have a chance to win. Trump did that, Hillary didn't. I see a number of Democratic hacks on this thread. You know who I'm talking about (not you necessarily one_less). You are the guys and girls who urged everyone to vote for Hillary because she was "the lesser of two evils." Looks like the American public didn't agree with you. They wanted not "the lesser of two evils", but the better candidate. I wonder if the Democratic Party and all the hacks on SI who post on the two Democratic hack threads above, will ever get it. And I do think jlallen has a lot of insight, much more insight than the Democratic hacks here on SI, as to why the Democrats lost this election. I'd like to see him unbanned - even though he can be harsh and biting.

That is pure nonsense. People should be criticizing Trump. How you can look at his behavior over the last 18 months and think that people are being unreasonable to bash Trump is mystifying. How bad does a politician have to be before you feel it is okay to bash them. Should people have not criticized Hitler when he was rising to power? Putin? Trump and his minions, and the Republicans have every intention of crushing our humanity so that they can control us. That is going to be their objective over the next four years, to control us. The reason being, number one, they are into power and their RW ideology, and the way you manifest power is by controlling people. And two, the more they control us the more money they can make. They are about to rape this country and if that doesn't deserve some condemnation then I don't know what does. Trump is exactly like Putin. Why does Putin do what he does? Trump is doing it for the same reason, whatever in the hell it is, but whatever he does will have nothing to do with helping the country. At the very least, Trump will raid the treasury, create inflation and balloon the debt, destroy our stock, bond and currency markets and throw us into a terrible depression. And he will start many wars, especially when the depression starts to avert out attention..
