So, that's what the first chart means? It seems like one is about temperature and the other is about how much ice there is. Do they have the same deviation?

How many standard deviations were those temperatures? Does it count forever or what? So, if they get more than 1 that is 3 deviations what does that mean?

I know about normal curves. Is that what is shown in the picture you posted? (1/2 of one?) What does that +/- 2 standards mean? (That "mean" means "mean", not "average"). You know what I mean.

This stuff is so complicated for those of us who aren't experts in it.

how long have they been recording temps there "With regard to sea ice that means each year the chance of being 3 standard deviations based on random events is less than once every 100 years."

What I don't get is what happens if you have maybe 20 days in a row where it is 3 stnadards too hot? What does that mean? That it is 99.999999% (or whatever) proof that people are making it warmer? Or is it 98%? How does that work? And how is it factored in whether it is people doing it or, just shit happens because sometimes it is really just hot because we have warm winters and cool summers sometimes?

You see my question, right?
