Getting a clear agreement and definition on what an insult is could be quite messy, with much intransigence ...

Jay - Our discussion Salon has a different atmosphere than it did before the recent US elections.

But you have to admit, having two filthy-mouthed whores posting here is amusing in its own a way.

They weren't here years ago. I'm sure they were far too busy with customers previously to spend time on their phones posting insults to polite society.

Calling people filthy mouthed whores, human slugs, neanderthals, needing medication, etc would be okay though.

Insults are normally OK in context, but if it becomes a problem for the general quality of a board, I would recommend the board administrator to do some banning, temporary or permanent, as he/she sees fit. It doesnt even have to be fair, just do the pruning away until the desired result is achieved. In fact some uncertainty over whether a banning results in a given repeated insult can help with quality improvement (imho). In this way the adminstrator doesnt have to waste much time judging the the content to the nth degree, and it could even be mood dependent I suppose :-)

Nah, I'd prefer discipline China style: Swift execution (banning) with no explanation and no appeal because the transgressors, if moderately intelligent, would know the reasons for your actions. If they cannot understand why, they're too stupid to post here.

This is not a democracy where bad behavior is tolerated.

Return at your discretion after investigation into behavior elsewhere.

A modicum of re-education won't hurt.

Edit: I see that I am late with input. It's been a long day. And I have a not been reading lately....for obvious reasons.

Can we insult banned board members?Or at least poke a little fun at them?
