I think that Sessions just proved something else that he is not "fast on his feet". After all he meet the Ambassador in his Senate office and not some shabby hidden place that no one can see or hear.

So of course the question of Senator Al Franken was a "loaded" question as he for sure knew who visited Sessions, as it is registered in the visits ledger and if I am correct it is public information.

My problem is much more serious with an Obama nomination and has to do with a FED Official that hid from the Senate during their swearing in their failure to act as a proper regulator when Governor of another Central Bank and under his supervision $$$ hundred of millions where stolen from the IRS revenues, by schemes initiated by the banks he was supposed to supervise, socialized with known money launderers that are/were under FBI investigation and other law enforcement agencies from other countries . ...... and Yes he did not hear or knew anything.

Those schemes where cross-border back to back loans, money laundering in "split checks" below $10,000, transferred by special bank couriers, RE transaction with false value assessment by bank assessor, fictive overseas receivables and expenses on RE holdings, resulting in much lower capital gains tax instead of normal income tax and various complex FOREX shenanigans.

Some members of SI know exactly who he/she is as are many around the world

>>A couple of weeks ago Mitch McConnell said he was very disturbed by the new administration's continuing to make "unforced errors".
This is an unforced of unimaginable proportions.

As usual you are not taking an impartial view and are distorting the facts. The question was asked and answered in context of the Trump campaign. There is not a chance any court would be able to convict him of perjury. Is it possible that he intentionally avoided talking about activities not related to the Trump Campaign using the same tactic as Bill's famous "I did not have sex with that woman."? Maybe, but even that I am not convinced of after seeing the exact context and reply and hearing Session's explanation of his answer.

I am no fan of Trump or his appointees, but to me this smells like a witch hunt...
