Lots of things would have to change. The Finns have much smaller schools. Teachers usually know every student. Finnish teachers are paid more compared to the average income. There is only one standardized test. Parents get a monthly payment per child. There is also a stronger safety net so the parents can provide a better homelife.

Just to mention a few things. Education is not something stand alone. It is, or should be, a part of the overall social fabric.

The more anyone studies the smarter they will be. That is how it works.

The first thing I would ask you and every Republican, is how come I never hear you talking about the massive waste in defense, in the military-industrial complex? It is massive. Why is it so often education they want to cut?

George pissed away about $6 trillion on stupid tax cuts for the rich and wars that made no sense. And I've yet to hear Republicans say much about it. That money could have provided free education for so many kids.

With regard to education everybody has a different idea on what education should involve. In fact, look at the clown we have as head of the Department of Education right now. A typical no nothing Republican.

The best thing to do is simply make sure that you have the schools available for everybody and that they are free, or at least affordable. In fact, many, if not most of the Nordic countries education is not only free but they provide funding for the students to live on.

Most teachers do a good job. So the most important thing is simply to get people to go to school and stay there for as long as they can. And the longer the kids stay in school, the smarter they will get and the more productive they will be and the less crime they will commit and the longer they will live and the better it will be for society all the way around. It is a simple equation.

If we had put that $6 trillion that Bush blew all into education providing free preschool for every kid in the country all the way through a PhD degree, if they wanted, and given them grants to pay for their living expenses, we would be the greatest country on earth right now. We would sparkle. And probably wouldn't have Trump!

But that concept was a little bit too much for guys like George Bush and Republicans who seem to have no respect for education.
