Dennis,

If one has all his eggs in one basket I would not buy anymore either, but one should always be diversified, and be willing to buy on dips! If they make $.23 this qt. verses $.15 that is a 53% gain! They had a few resturants open at the very end of the qt. which has alot of expense to open them, so I feel as though the report is not as bad as it may seem! As far as the bond goes, I believe they are looking at the low interest rates that are now in place and is wanting to take advantage of the situation! I can see them raising money now with a low rate with the conv. factor, and drawing interest on the money until they need it for future expansion! Better to lock in rates now since they are so low and invest the money later at which time rates may be higher! Don't give up just yet!

Hank

Hey Den,

Sounds like you're pretty angry. I guess management all along hasn't exactly appeared the most trustworthy, even though they seem to have a company which looks to just keep on steamrolling in terms of development and growth. I find it distressing that so recently they stated that they were comfortable with meeting the qtrly. expectations only to announce soon after that they won't be...if nothing else, this disturbs me the most. In the past, any trust issues didn't actually really upset shareholders, as it didn't look like they were downright lying like this almost looks to be. If you're not sure, you don't say anything.

Having said all that, I also agree that a top-flight coo/pres. is necessary to really move this company forward in the best fashion possible.

However, all said and done, does this mean that the likelihood of 1.30eps this year or 2ish in '99 isn't still there? I still have trouble seeing the current price, especially if it dips under 30 as being a bad place to own this company, although I don't like to put anything extra in, even if the price is right, if I'm not feeling really comfortable with management. I'm not in a hurry to liquidate anything right now, but I'm sure not looking to buy any more right now either...possibly because I feel like I already sunk enough into this part of my portfolio a while back. I think it's pretty likely that it won't be under 30 over the next 8-12 weeks(keeping the split in mind), and that positive momentum is very likely to come out of the next Disney opening in a big way. I see the Disney association as helping make up for some of what might be lacking with management at times, and Disney is only getting stronger.

In other words, they'll have to do more than this to get me to sell my holdings. I don't think the tax consequences would be worth it, given the fact that I also think that the price will likely significantly higher than it is now within one year, and further after. Even if it doesn't hit the stars as much as many here fantasize, it doesn't make the growth rate a small one. In other words, still a growing company with excellent prospects....just makes me pull out the microscope to examine their moves a lot more closely than I had been doing for a while.

My guess here is that all of us on this board will have strong opinions on this of some sort. Let's just try to stay together on this one, so we can distribute our info and opinions in as constructive a way as possible. It's only one or two cents short of first call est., not a major drop in earnings or growth or anything, but actually the opposite...does that justify a major drop in the company's outlook? Not in my mind, although I still am concerned about the lack of honesty about it.

off topic...On a less serious note, if you're out there, Bob...HOW BOUT THEM CANES....beat UConn tonight with total dominance in the second half...looks like cracking the top 25 will finally be possible, assuming no breakdowns in the next game or two.

Take care everybody,

Marshall

One negative post by you and see what you do to the price! :)
