>The graphic workstation market is owned by Sun and NT (OGL)

>Sun, DEC, and HP.

Strange that someone with such sweeping statements can't use the immense knowledge that is undoubtedly behind these statements during the more substantiated discussions on this forum about these items ;).

Have you ever considered actually contributing something more than your own gut feeling? For one, if you consult my posts, you'll see that I disagree quite violently with you; yet you do not give anyone the opportunity to refute your statements, do you?

'Yours is inferior' or 'mine's bigger than yours' posts (preferrably with the words 'rulez' and 'sucks' in them?) belong to discussion groups about Sega vs. Nintendo video games, not on this forum.

James -

Any positive comments?

Any substantive reasoning behind your statements?

It is trading close to book value. Still losts of cash. With last rounds of lay-offs, it should be back in black if not this qtr. then the next. If they manage to hire some high profile ceo and get their marketing and operational control in place, then the shares will bounce back. Ofcourse, there could be some down side if the coming qtr is missed. Compare it to Apple which has had equally tough time but still around and during all this time if some one had traded the stock, would have done quite nicely. I feel SGI still has enough life and energy left to survive. Either case, I still have this on my watch list although I have no position at this time (sold mine in Jan/.Feb of last year).

James,

if this is your opinion and not your knowledge base, I agree with you. With quite a portion of background concerning SGI's technology I would recommend you strongly to go a little deeper and look at the various posts in this thread concerning for example the SGI's Server technology.

Furthermore, wait for the NT-Product that is announced for FY 99. Perhaps it will change your opinion.

If you're interested in more details, feel free to contact me via email: chrifu@munich.sgi.com and I'll help you.

Best Regards
Christian
