From an X adaptec employee, this stock is a steal. The
company dominates the market, has the best management
team in the business, and by all other measures is way
undervalued.
The disk drive portion of Adaptec is in a slump, but they
will pull out of it.
I bought some last week and will buy more tomorrow.

Regards,

Dougerdad

Jelrod3. You seemed to have a vague premonition about a warning and lurking deep behind my glowing admiration of the company also were nagging concerns about the earnings. But the closer we got to the formal annoucement date of 20 Jan, the more I felt at ease. I must say, this was a big surprise. The initial shock subsided quickly, however, because I take a long view and know a recovery will come.

Now, I'll just settle back and imagine casting out a perfect Royal Coachman, waiting for the Rainbows to rise.

All - OK it happened. Lets look at some book value numbers:

At $37.25 we were 5.2 times book Historic high was 8+ times
at $24 we're still 3.3 times book

$15 would match 2 times book Historic low

Huge support back at these prices was about $18.

If we're lucky, ADPT will go up from here. If it acts like almost every tech stock I follow that has had a warning, it'll go down again on the actual earnings date. Big $ question is to buy @ $24 & hope it doesn't hit $18 or wait. I don't yet know what I'll do. My gut says it'll go down twice. Anyone know what role the 88% institutional ownership will play in this scenario?

thanks in advance,
Tom
