I think we've ALREADY been crushed by inflation in the Blue States.

We had brunch yesterday at a diner we like... yeah, it was tony Los Altos rather than some dusty place on Route 66... but two coffees, patty melt and veggie omelette ran $40 with 20% tip.... Maybe the coffee was organic beans roasted that day in the shop, but $3.25 with free refills in pots on the table is reasonable and makes it nice to relax.

Maybe too my burger was 1/2 lb of quality beef so I didn't need much but some sliced avocado and tomato plus some leftovers (a few pieces of leftover lobster and Tarro dim sum from Emily's Chinese NY celebration with her sister) for a small dinner.

Damn.. that sounds like complaining about gold toilet seats being too cold! LOL....

Life IS good but I sure feel for those not so fortunate to have bought a home here and are seeing soaring rents AND home prices rising even faster.

For the retired and us semi retired folks, it is sure nice getting more on the fixed income side of our portfolios. My REITs didn't like it much, but they've outperformed so much over the years that I took a lot of profits and would not cry buying some back much cheaper.
