Non citizens contribute to the census which is used to determine the electoral representation a state gets. This is the reason Republicans often state that illegal immigrants can impact election results as they look at the voting power of my state CA and probably the reason Trump is attacking the census. I don’t think they ever found the smoking gun on non citizen voters they wanted.

Once they get citizenship, they get to vote. Democrats want to give the current resident illegal immigrants an easy path to citizenship. Then they get to vote.

There are currently 10-12 million illegal immigrants in the country at this time. The future of the Democratic party.

Reagan did this in 1986. That added 20+ million voters to the Democratic party. California will be Democratic for several generations.

It is obvious.
