Hi w0z,

Good point - Jan and I walk a very hilly 4 mile plus walk around a 1 mile by 1 mile, but not daily.

Want to do when my garden building is done.

Laying 80 pound pavers has kept me huffing and puffing and better muscle tone.

Bob

Walking is great for all you mention but it still isn't the same aerobic workout of running, windsurfing, stair climbing or using an elliptical trainer.
Simply walking will do wonders for your BMI, BP, glucose, heart rate, lipo profile numbers, stress and mental health.
I'm too "fat" to run on pavement and even using a treadmill was too much pounding... so I bought an elliptical and that allows me to get in a good, intense workout in 30 minutes.

After many years of this, I got bored and have been doing more walking while listening to books on tape but I have to spend twice as long to get a similar caloric burn and I digress in what I can do in 30 min on the elliptical if I just walk and do yoga for 5 or 6 days a week.

What is really weird is I can do a 4.0 out of 5 workout for over a hour windsurfing

Maybe I have so much fun my body hides the pain?

My BMI is horrible at 30.1 but my average resting HR is often under 60 according to my Sleep Number bed that measures it and my BP is often 105/67 give or take. I give good meaning to fat and healthy! LOL
