Clearly visible, at night or during the day ? After evading police, jumping fences... and adrenaline is high ?

Always more questions than answers, being a cop today surely is not easy.

Mistakes happen. The last time police pointed their weapon at me, I stuck both my arms out the window of my van so they could see I was not holding anything. I yelled "we're windsurfers and lost!"

A windsurfing buddy and I were driving our vans from the Bay Area to the Gorge and were looking for a campground. We took a wrong turn and were going through an area with homes at maybe 2AM or 3AM at night using our two vans talking on CB radios... They probably thought we were robbers....

If you are a criminal doing a crime, don't give the police, loaded with adrenaline, ANY excuse to make a mistake and end your life.

I have sympathy for the police... people should do as instructed and make their jobs easier.

What would you do at 3AM in the morning when two "bearded hippies in old vans" were "slowly prowling" a residential neighborhood?
