the way you answered those questions reveals you didn't read the announcement they made or anything else today.
you only heard stuff you wnated to.the earnings were a record.
the unit growth was 50+%
the grosss margins are the highest in industry at 27.6%
inventory turns were up to highest levels
price cuts are a sign of strength in this business by cpq not weakness
and all you had to say was the record sales volume and record profits
by cpq that makes even the analsyt beleive they are 50 billion in 3 yrs were not great by your perspective<ggg>
yep, jim go back to your bank stks you don't know tech.
dell will not be weak in feb 98 because of the asai exchange rates.
that should be obvious.
even cnbc was hyping cpq today and they pn cpq plenty, but they were spinning cpq to the ceiling today.
I'm still glad you covered and got out of cpq short.

you said in your opinion the cpq numbers were not that great.
here are the numbers you seem to miss.
net income up 60%

unit growth in europe and USA up over 50%

total untis up 43%

37% of revenue was enterprise- servers and tandem

gross margin 27.6%

growth rate over 2 1/2 times the industry avg.( this is what you are missing for '98 too. cpq and dell will grow 2-3 times the avg. so thats 45% growth)

90% return on invested capital for 4th qtr

in pure cash cpq has 6.5 billion now.. and their AR is cash too on top of that.

and you response was it wasn't that great<gg>
I think you are doing some of that selcted reading again.
taking in anything you read that backs up your case and not seeing anything that doesn't back up your case.
keep it up and you'll be broke in the techs doing this<gg>
