OK, if your so sure of what you said, the guns mean nothing, .... so why did Hitler, Stalin, and Mao absolutely make sure the citizens became disarmed? They all had huge standing armies and plenty of big artillery and stuff. Whats they wanted, is what you want... you want to make sure the countries citizens are subjugated. The real problem is peoples minds are the primary weapon that dictators and control freaks fear. People who think and live as they wish, and are not under the direct control of the state. You need them fearful to achieve that, and the quick way of making sure that occurs is to make sure only the state is armed. And why did the founding father's of the USA make sure the 2nd amendment was included in the Constitution? The reason is... imho... is they knew what goes wrong with government. I sincerely hope the USA learns to balance it's books once again, that taxes are fairly administered and paid. Everyone benefits from a good infrastructure. Successful business cannot exist without citizens who are healthy, educated and who have jobs and have real money to spend. There is a huge crossover between so called socialism and so called capitalism. There is bad socialism and there is bad capitalism. Central planning occurs whenever a government has a large military budget to pay for, and that clarifies a lot of the bullchit that is spun about "big government" & central planning. It's laughable that it's only socialism that does that. What is needed are citizens who can discern the important differences between the good and bad politics and act accordingly. That is where the issue lies. The party political bickering is old, too old for this century.
