Romney would be a logical pick since republicans tend to pick men who ran twice - Reagan, Bush 41, Nixon. But I think he'd have to support impeachment first and promise a new cabinet. His slogan could be "end the chaos."

I doubt they could win the pub primaries against Trump.

The Trump base would see Pence as a Trump proxy.

<,Oh, I think Kasich and/or Romney would run against Pence in a heart beat. Particularly considering the present Dem prospects.
