"what do we say about the people who vote for him over and over and over?"

There are more of them then there are of us.

I have been fascinated by the conservative mind since college. In fact one of the reasons I majored in psychology was to try and understand it i,e I could see smart conservatives that seemed to be able to bifurcate their mind between knowledge and logic in an illogical way??

I still don't really understand that manifestation except where it involves ignorance. And that involves appealing to cultural prejudices e.g. god, guns and opposing gays.

Low information people who live according to a primitive culture have a tendency to be conservatives e.g rural America, or all over the world.

But when people are educated and still remain Republicans, that I don't get?

The difference in the two parties has been "stark" since the 50's. For the last 60/70 years it has been crystal clear that the Democrats helped the poor and the people and the Republicans helped the rich.

That is all the Republicans have been doing for 60 years. Helping the rich.

Along the way the pubs figured out a way to high jack the low information rural and southern voter by appealing to both their culture of god, guns and hating gays, and their racism after the 1964 civil rights act.

Specially, Lee Atwood's Southern strategy. Which he apologized for at his death. Don't they always.

That is when the alliance between the Northern Democrats and Dixiecrats broke down and the southern politicians have been running our county into the ground ever since.

I am glad to see that phenomenon of right /left out in the open for people to ponder.

When a fiscal conservative can't balance the budget he's a liar but what do we say about the people who vote for him over and over and over?

Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.

They tell us who they are every time they vote for fiscal conservatives who promise to balance the budget.
