Legally, they might have to take it back if bought before the posted policy. Morally, hopefully the jerks that bought that much donate it to charity or trade it with "friends" who will see what their friend tried to do. I fairness, small businesses use Costco to buy supplies. I posted directly to Gov. Newsom BEFORE the shutdown that he should give TP (and hand sanitizer) to small restaurants so they could offer free rolls with every order. Perhaps the man in the photo was buying the TP to offer with take out meals...

great to hear. question for all those in any county or state in the good ol USA who are under the so called "shelter-in-place" BS. Background--i have a relative that lives and works in an adjoining state presently under those rules. She does not work in an essential industry and lives in an apartment building. She has just been laid off (or whatever you choose to call it) because of 19 until further notice--boss says it might be as long as a couple of months. Her family has a ranch/farm in this state, Texas, and she has decided to come home until the restrictions are lifted. She will keep the apartment, etc. but come home until it's over or the world ends--whichever comes first. Just pack a bag and drive approx. 325 miles to her parents place and then continue to "shelter-in-place" like all the other sheep. So she would be driving 325 miles from a "shelter-in-place" location to another "shelter-in-place" location in another state. Can she legally do that without being hassled by big brother or not is the question? Has anyone run into this problem yet? PS--i called the so called hot line for Dallas County to inquire but had no luck getting useful information.
