Question to All: Didn't Clinton's application for the Rhodes Scholarship and his stint at Oxford predate any real threat of being drafted into the Vietnam War? To most in the US of A, the war in Vietnam was not the WAR IN VIETNAM until about 1966. Again, I'm asking a question with regard only to the chronolgy of events. In answer to a perhaps anticipated statement, let me say that I do know that the first soldier from the US of A POW was taken in 1964.

So what's the point of the year at Oxford?

Sorry to be sooooo cynical, but basically you're there to make connections. At that point in your scholarly life (should you choose to have one) there isn't a whole lot more you can really do.
