You came to the right conclusion. It takes only a 100 carriers to reignite the flames and push the rates to before the lockdown in a week.

So you either need widespread and continuous testing, or herd immunity. The most likely path forward is a combination of controlled slow opening of the lockdown and random testing with quick localized contagion response until the end of the year.

If they do it right and if the virus doesn't mutate badly, then we may have achieved enough herd immunity to have a semi-normal life in 2021.

I ran a few numbers.

The US has 4.6% of the rest of the world's population.
The US now has 22.3% of the deaths from COVID-19 compared to the rest of the world.

  • If this was a hospital compared to other hospitals, would you investigate?
  • If you were on the board, would you fire the CEO?
  • If you owned this hospital, would you fire the board?
  • If you lost a loved one at that hospital, would you sue for negligence?

The past week, we're running at 36%, and that number is rising (41% yesterday).

Next 7 days will likely double US death count.

The lies I've seen for the last few months:

  • It's a Democrat hoax (the hype)
  • It's Fake News
  • It's Overblown!
  • It's regular flu
  • It's a conspiracy, world wide, to get rid of Trump (that should be on a sociopath test)

And now that the deaths are ramping up and the fruits of the 3rd World Nation response (mis)led by Trump have come home to roost, a new lie emerges:

  • They are reporting non-coronavirus numbers as coronavirus to boost the numbers.

Here's the reality. Look at how many cases were "positive" 11 days ago. Divide by 10. That's going to be close to today's death count.

If that holds, expect a doubling in the US death count in the next 7 days including today. Probably 6 days.

Now here's something for conspiracy thinkers who understand about following the money to the true source of evil. Every week of delay in launching an intelligent and comprehensive response to the approaching pandemic means a more dire situation for the country. (See US woeful numbers above.)

That in turn opens the door to a more massive corporate welfare payout and a larger slush fund from which to "play" mob boss. The only question is, how long do you wait to get the biggest slush fund while at the same time not ruining your re-election chances?

So was the many weeks' delay due to incompetence, or was it planned? There are many people here who say he is brilliant. That implies it was planned.

Perhaps, possibly, very likely not!

That whole presentation appears to be the standard line fed the public these days by mainstream media 24/7. One comment you made seemed strange though--to indicate "a fairly heavy math presentation" relative to an explanation of virus 19 is just strange to me. I have seen several graphical presentations preaching the superior benefits of "shelter in place" as well as others I consider more accurate. However, none of them would require more than rudimentary mathematical skills--like the simple ability to read a chart for example.

PS--you stated: "Great article! It correlates very well with who is easily fooled by frauds here on SI. No need to mention names."

Hell go ahead and name some names Kirk. Its just funny how we all--by that i mean Kirk, Me, and everybody else on the planet--decide through whatever process we choose what the right way to view an issue is--promptly congratulate ourselves as having a superior intellect and infinite wisdom-- and then label everybody else that don't fall in line an ignorant clod eh.

Kinda tells us a lot about the "players" if we bother to look dontit?
