Will is easily the smartest and most erudite TV commentator extant. As a columnist he is also almost without peer.

BTW, Will also thought Bush a cipher - Reagan's big mistake.

But the condition of his presidency is permanently more parlous and dangerous to the nation than that of Woodrow Wilson's presidency after his stroke of October 1919.

Huh? What's Wilson got to do with it? By the same token one could draw comparisons with FDR's or Reagan's last years; neither was fully capable of, um, discharging his responsibilities.

Better to compare Clinton to Nixon, who went to pieces in the last six months or so of his term in office. So far, though, Bill seems to be keeping it together a bit better.

And let's face it: Hillary is LOT smarter than Edith Wilson, who, with her friend Colonel Something (too lazy to go look it up) ran the late Wilson administration.

Sure, George Will is biased, but this really goes too far.
