Correct you are. Ancor is too small of a company to promote FC by itself. Brocade's existence, as well as the existence of the other FC companies and association is of paramount importance to the success of Ancor. Thanks for bringing that up.

You are correct. I don't think Brocade is too worried. $8K/port certainly doesn't compete with FC. It doesn't specify bus length, but I doubt you will see runs of 10 - 20 km. If anyone would be concerned I would think it would be Adaptec.

I looked at Gigalabs previously for switched HIPPI and GE and didn't find much interest. In fact I got this feedback from an SI poster who is quite knowledgeable in GE:
