That narrative is wrong on so many fronts. For starters, it is not true that Sweden did not go through social distancing. Rather Sweden trusted their citizens to voluntarily do the right thing, and they did. It is doubtful that other nations would have been as willing to oblige.

Furthermore, Sweden made it practical for the people to follow through on social distancing via a lot of various government services and a pre-existing infrastructure and services that supported those efforts.

It is highly unlikely that other nations could have followed that path. This issue has been well discussed in various circle, but the narrative is often missed in the popular media.

Note that the rate is rising FASTER in the US than in any other country. Based on the chart I estimate that the US could be at the top of the list in about 6-8 weeks, plus or minus. Not trying to predict when, just pointing out that the situation is still changing.

Obesity is probably one of the biggest co-morbidy factors as it leads to a whole host of other issues not to mention chronic inflammation.

obesity.procon.org

USA 12th in world at 36%
Sweden 96th at 20%

Doesn't factor in our morbidly obese which I'm sure is much, much higher than Sweden. If we applied Sweden's model (which is looks like we're doing this summer) should make for an ugly result.

The roadmap is out there w/other countries. Everyone wear a mask for starters.
