RE:* * Multiple monitor & win98 * *

Sounds like a nice setup to me. How do you position the different Communicator windows on the multiple screens. Is it just like one large desktop? If you open an application its window might be split between two monitors and then you drag it completely onto one of the monitor screens? Does it handle different resolutions or do you set all the graphic cards the same?

Regards

Zeuspaul

Win '98: how many multimonitors will it support?
As many PCI slots available?

> I successfully tested the following configs under
Win98Beta3:

1. 2 S3 Trio64V2 (Dual Monitor)
2. 1 Millenium + 1 S3 Trio64V2 (Dual Monitor)
3. 1 Millenium + 2 S3 Trio64V2 (Triple Monitor)<

A friend wants to use Windows '98 and run several monitors.
Is there a cheap graphics card that you favor? Or is there
a card you favor overall that is reasonably priced?
> One example of supported hardware is the S3 TRIO64V2,
so I decided to buy two (identical) no name cards (30$ each).<
Where did you get this no name card? Has it been sufficient?

Would you recommend him moving to Win NT for multimonitor set up rather than Win '98? How many multimonitors will NT support?

thanks,
S.W.

Just hooked up another monitor using Win 98 without that expensive equipment dual video card. Windows 98 looks the same but its really a great improvement on Windows 95

>>while on second computer I am running Internet Trader with 9 tick charts and a real audio stream for CNBC

Dirk,

This is going back a ways--I've been reading through some of the earlier parts of this thread and stumbled on your comment about getting CNBC on your computer. I've been looking for it, (CNBC), but can't find anything. My guess is that maybe it used to be offered but no longer is. It wouldn't make sense for it to be free since you have to pay for it on TV (via cable).

(Without high hopes)
Thanks,
wily

Hi Dirk,
This question probably buried in a number of posts on this thread. BUT if possible would you please answer this question so it casn be used as some sort of documentation for users:

1) After we have the dual monitors Matrox installed by the hardware vendor, what do we have to do in terms of the settings in order to view LEVEL 2 on two monitors.

2) In windows NT, what do one have to do

Thank you
