Not true.

The original tapes are legal evidence because Starr did not participate in their production. That "poison fruit" theory is not applicable. What depends is what they are admissible for and who they are admissible against.

Further, Tripp cannot be charged because the MD courts have ruled that she had to know it was illegal to be prosecuted. The DA says Tripp did not and shall not be prosecuted.

The FBI tapes are legal under any scenario, but again, against whom and for what purpose.

As for Monica, the married teacher is valuable only to confirm Monica's allegations against "the Creep", his characterizations of her carry no weight considering his standing.

Finally, the acceptance of the tapes may do more damage to Starr than to anyone else, as it may prove him to be either incompetent or biased, or both.

And let's remember the circumstances: Apparently Tripp told Starr about the tapes; he told her that by making them she'd committed a crime, but he could "help" her. (I posted the reference for this yesterday.) More than a little slimy.

Jeff,
There are two sets of tapes. The first made by Tripp can't be used but the second made by the FBI under court order are certainly admissable.
