Horrible day. What happened to Ames? Any ideas?I bought at 14 5/16 thinking I got a bargain. Then I bought at 14 thinking I got a steal.I kept checking Microsoft Investor for news wire stories and found no news.I thought about getting more at 13 3/4 but chickened out.

WHAT HAPPENED???? HELP!

Thank you, Gary. I believe some one posted that it is the store manager's performance. In reality, it is always product saturation. AMES only had 300 vendors then; and the community soon got tired of the products. Then there was the income level of the surrounding towns. No amount of remodeling can help if depression happens locally. In retailing, which most top management did not understand (egghead, jc penny etc); if you are unsuccessful in discount you change it to upscale. Or you change back to discount. In AMES, we proposed a middle of the road, a limited upscale. AMES kept their old customers and gained new customers who are upscale. This year, we proposed adding more vendors to 2400 to prevent product saturation in the towns (20-30 miles around) that AMES serve.

Market makers over pulled back if there is such language. It will take some doing to have a nice move again. Ended up, Wall street still has to start at DOW to bring the rear up. As long as AMES is healthy and growing, it is just a matter of time.
