I think no man is above the law. I don't feel at all like being an apologist for Clinton either. But the argument that was made in the Paula Jones case, that the suit should wait until after he is out of office because of the possible distractions to the work of the country, were quite prophetic. The court might have heeded that argument a bit more and headed this whole thing off by either delaying this case, or at the least limiting deposition to events from before he entered office.

If she felt that it should cover events in the White House as well then she should have been given the choice of waiting until he was out of office for him to be deposed.

Janice, I wasn't just talking about Lewinsky. Another worker has given testimony that she was groped in the breasts by the President, and asked to grab his chest.

Do you really think the President was doing this in order to meet and Marry this Lewinsky?

This is the problem with our society. We give excuses for different standards of conduct for our elected officials than we do to the Armed Services. Clearly a double standard. I would like to see you explain that one to an 18 year old sitting in a foxhole in Bosnia.

I'm sorry Janice, you really are confused about the standards of conduct in the Armed Services. In a leadership position you can't date people who work for you. Patsy Shroeder and the NOW gang made sure of that a while ago.

The same women who are deafly silent now.

Michael

Janice, you're really missing the point....Clinton's dalliance with a 21 year old intern by definition put him in the position to be charged with a sexual harassment case while he was in office. This behaviour on his part bespeaks his complete disregard for the office of the Presidency. If the allegations are true, consider what the outcome would be if Lewinsky had chose to take her "evidence" to an attorney and initiate her own lawsuit a la Paula Jones? It is obvious that the Gennifer Flowers affair has only emboldened the guy and given him a sense of "invincibility" in this area. Any chief executive engaging in this kind of irresponsible, reckless behaviour is not executive timber and should resign. Would you feel the same way about a CEO in the private sector? bp
