I think you are going to have to show Kirk pictures of the surf rolling in along that coast stretch through Galveston and the Padre islands to get him interested. That surf may be too "wimpy" to interest the hard core Calif windsurfers.

Texas has something for everybody though..that's for sure. For my money and if I were younger, I'd think seriously about the Big Bend country. I loved that area around Alpine and Marfa. Man, that is a huge, beautiful and empty part of the USA. Also liked the hill country southwest of Austin...all those old German farms and wineries.

When are you headed south for the winter? Suddenly getting quite cold down here. Must be up your way too.

I heard you have something called wra... ruh... that wet stuff that most get all summer to water their lawns for free... what is it called again?
Lots are bigger such that you can have flower and vegetable gardens and even afford to water them<smile>

We're in a La Nina drought cycle... 30s and 40s at night but balmy 60s during the day and could hit 70 in a few places where we should be getting some good rain this time of year.
