I changed enemies to accusers. Either way, last week the press and the American people were after him. I know if I faced what he did going into this week's speech, I would have felt surrounded. He has stood up to the challenges of the week and now is stronger than ever in the polls. The American people seem to want the whole thing to be dropped and the press seems to be backing off a bit. The whole tone has changed. I am just expressing what I see. I disagree with letting him off but it seems inevitable. Who knows though, some hard evidence, could change the tide again. WS
