...And teaching used to be a part time job and not well paid. The wokes moved in and made it well paid and ideologically and politically powerful.

I think for Donald Trump running for the presidency was service. He did it for free, and apparently at a serious cost to himself and his family.

Different times call for different types of people. Now, we need leaders who could stop the regressives and... MAGA.

Case in point, Ratcliffe was not confirmable on the first try and had to be withdrawn. PDJT was forced to nominate "DC friendlies" to get confirmation on any of his appointments. Some may have been sympathetic to his causes, but were insiders and "compromised". The Swamp is wide and deep. Ratcliffe had to be managed before he was acceptable for confirmed nomination.
