I disagree that Jewish resistance made it worse. Nazis were going to kill all Jews in Warsaw Ghetto regardless of resistance. Really bad analogy. As for armed robbery, I would rather prefer to die defending my ground than beg for mercy of a robber and obediently wait for his decision to kill or spare me.

This discussion and q-node's mention of how he hates Nancy Pelosi more than anyone -- which is kind of remarkable, given all the mother rapers and father stabbers and father rapers and whatnot out there -- got me thinking how prescient HST was, and how fear and loathing has truly come to America. I don't have any answers, but it's not going to be easy when half the country loathes an 80 year old woman.

Yet, my wife insisted she needed a gun that could be kept in her bedside table rather than a gun safe. It made her feel safer. There is great value in knowing you can blow an intruder's brains out if necessary. We hope it never occurs, but if it does, better the intruder end up dead than my wife.
