With all due respect, anybody who put their entire life savings into a stock as risky as Data Race was asking for trouble. What really made me nervous the more I learned about this stock was how seldom I heard the word RISK mentioned. I learned a lesson from this stock, and now I am back to my normal conservative style of investing. I think Ben Graham said it best - the first rule of making money is not to lose it. And, yes, I have taken stocks down to zero too - but as part of a somewhat diversified portfolio.

Terry, one make investment decision only base on his/her ability to endure the risk. RACE is a very risky stock from the very beginning. It can be a 100 dollar stock or a 5 dollar stock. While I think it is unfortunate that you put so much into such a risky stock, I think it is very important to let you know that investment is not gamble. Because here you have a good possibility to loss it all. You said we just said to give up RACE with ease. I can't agree with that. I have a lot of friends and relatives bought RACE with me. I feel so hard to open my mouth to tell them to sell RACE with a loss. But if I think it is not worth it, I would like to let my friends know it. BTW, I stopped out at 5 3/4 instead of teens. :-(((((((( After all, I hope I never know RACE at all. At the same time, I am happy that after the RACE lesson, I really get serious about investing and developed a nice trading method my own to beat the market. I hope you too can think about it and get something out of this RACE crash.
