The edge
or
The middle

So many people are so good at so many things, examples are everywhere.
As we advance knowledge along broad fronts, I am left behind, like almost everyone else.
I have no trouble finding awe and wonder in the accomplishments of others.
In this sense I am very much in the middle of the pack, I have no issues with not being special.
On the flip side I have carefully cultivated my knowledge where it matters to me.
It is not a claim that I am exemplary in anyway, it is what we all do, we learn what we want to know.

The thing that stands out in when I think about the Universe is that it fits in my mind.
I am almost certainly the smallest ruler being used to measure the longest time.
I am not sure there is any consequence in that connection though many believe there must be.
I am simply happy that I am alive now, in the dawn of the digital world, in this new land.
It is enough for me to know that today we cannot detect 95% of the universe that we measure.
That fact is comforting, it is pleasant knowing this mystery is right there at the edge of understanding.

What I find amazing and wonderful in my old age, is a new appreciation for this amazing universe and our amazing beautiful planet, and with things like the magic of water, and the beauty of trees and forests, and a summer afternoon and our wonderful oceans.

And I am amazed at things like electricity and quantum phenomenon that allows things like Iphones and television.

And I am amazed that we human primates can understand as much as we can.
