Socialism... is communism in disguise... that is fascism in disguise... that wants and pretends to not mean it ? There is no fundamental distinction between them... only minor variations in phenotypical expressions... They are all based in the same ideas... and always arrive at the same ends... because of that fact in shared basis in philosophical understanding... that is broadly disconnected from reality. They are each wrong about people... wrong about the proper role of individuals in society... and wrong about the nature of the relationship of society to the individual. Not saying they're not different... Only saying the differences are inconsequential realtive to the inevitability encoded in the shared pathology.

Amusing = socialism is not communism. They look the same to me. Maybe there are subtle abstruse arcane differences just as communism has many subtle differences, with competing murderous acolytes for each faction. The basic principle is from each according to their ability, to each according to their needs. Which means give us your money or we kill you. Dress it up as you like, it's the individual is the property of the Great and Glorious State. Mqurice

I find your critics amusing to read with their adverse reaction to the word "socialism" . I am living in Scotland now as opposed to England. Give it a week or two I will hopefully be espousing a Scottish view. The Scots are canny with their words and basically more of a social species then their English brethren. I am English in case your wondering btw, but I earlier lived in Scotland for a good many years, and I do like the place. There is also Scots law as opposed to English common law. The Difference between Scottish Law and UK Law (lawyer-monthly.com)
