I agree and I believe the precedent was set by insurance companies charging more for smokers.

I see it the same way too... smoke whatever you want IN YOUR HOME but don't blow your toxic smoke where I breath, indoors or outdoors. I think our city went so far as to ban smoking outdoors, even at restaurants, which may explain why they have trouble hiring the low wage workers who are often smokers.

IF someone wants to avoid the what I see as a tiny bit of extra risk for a whole lot of protection IF you interact with people in cities or jobs, then fine... they can stay home unvaccinated. BUT don't ask me to support their higher health care costs either so charging more for insurance does this.

I wonder if Medicare will increase the premium $400 or more as they age for the elderly who are far more likely to need expensive care if they get COVID?

BTW, I decided a few years ago to get the annual flu shot once my ACA plan decided it would save them money to give it to me for free. Until then, I thought it was like a "lifetime alignment" that some "crooks" give to get you to come in so they can sell you other unneeded auto service.

Those flu shots are about 60% effective and you need a "booster" every year as the flu virus mutates. Shingles was the same until my Agenus investment (AGEN) came up with a compound they added to the shot that boosted it to above 90% effective... they called the new shot "Shingrix" after it was approved.

I think when Trump started "Operation Warp Speed" he/we all hoped we could get one of those mid 60% effective shots then natural spread would give us the other 10% to get to "herd immunity." Getting 90% for 6 to 9 months for the elderly is almost a miracle yet here we are with a heated, hateful battle here and in our major cities.
