Paul,

Thanks for the article. Would you know (sure you do!) which vendor(s) will supply Compaq with Fiber Channel based storage products?

Thanks.

Paul,

Rambus (RMBS) surged more than $4 after the stock had been languishing for sometime.

The unofficial word that I got from my broker was that, today, Rambus and Intel made joint presentations at the IEEE conference and disclosed the following:

1) The development of next-generation RDRAM bus for mainstream PCs is AHEAD of schedule;

2) The relationship between Rambus and Intel is as solid as ever, despite the interim noises made on 100 MHz SDRAMs.

Do you--or anyone else--have any detailed information?

Thanks in advance.

Ibexx

Compaq Unveils 1998 Road Map
Compaq may be using AMD's K6 and the company formerly known as Cyrix's MediaGX, but in their 1998 Road Map, described below, only CPU's from only ONE VENDOR are mentioned.

Guess which one?

Paul: Oh 'lemme' see, would that be INTEL? <GG>
