Good Morning Kirk,

My Nomad restoration is coming along quickly now.

Yesterday some of the polished stainless trim was installed along with the new front windshield.

Here is a link that shows how it was last week (next two posts).

I took a road trip to pickup and paint the engine (it is complete with the exception of the fuel injection unit and distributor - which is under restoration now). The Craftsman and his son doing the work in the pics are amazing. So fortunate to have found his services. Good Karma I'd like to think. It is completing to be well above my expectations, more a show car quality vs. driver. To me it has always been the journey (learning how to do things correctly) vs the destination showing off a possession.

Once complete, I seldom ever drive them, except what's needed to keep them functioning.

I bought it on July 5th 1970. Found the $5.00 gas receipt in the glove box.

It had endured 14 Wisconsin winters and salt on the road. So in terms of a California car it was a Wisconsin rust bucket.

That is all gone now as Randy has replaced the front and rear floor board , the inner fender wells, the middle fender wells, the rear quarter panels, firewall and rocker panels. I had bought new fenders in 1970. The remaining ,metal from the car are two doors and the rear tailgate.

It is a complete rotisserie nut and bolt restoration. Yesterday and today I'm ordering about 80 parts, small things like chrome and screws. Next is the all new glass and interior. Pushing aggressively to have it completed by the first week of July as the National Nomad club in convening with their annual meet in Milwaukee (a 60 mile drive - I'll trailer it). They are a group of people that razz those who do not drive to the show - so I'm prepared.

At any rate, I've learned how to post pics from my phone just last week so here are 4 shots! (link above).

Every indication is chips will be pricey and great margins all of next year - much like auto's.

Bob
