Maybe humans were not meant to evolve to the next level, the next few years will test that.

If every country launched 100% of their nukes 50% of them would fail.

Nuclear winter, global warming, who knows?

Either way some conscious life would go on even if it is only rats.

Years from now when we are contacted by an advanced civilization they will see we were just another advanced civilization that did not advance all the way.

With any luck the rats will mutate into a more advanced species and take up where we left off.

Not wanting to get all General Jack D Ripper here, but I think the nuclear winter phenomena was a bit oversold. The Iraqis lit all the oil wells on fire and demonstrated there is little impact from all the soot.

Now the entire web of the economy will rupture and most people will starve to death or suffer plagues. The four horsemen travel together for a reason. But not due to nuclear winter.

I am moving to Florida so my kids can be free-range. We visited for 2 hours and the local kids took our boys out to see the local gator in the pond.
