At that time, they were just switching from old pesos to nuevo pesos. I hope inflation never gets so bad here that we have to do that. Not even any pennies in use in Canada any more, is what I heard. Friend of mine lived in PV when they devalued the Peso. A number of expats there had their Money in the bank in Pesos rather than dollars. They got creamed.

I've never stayed in Cabo, found this cool place ranchopescadero.com near Todos Santos. Last time I was there I rented one of these cars. wideopenbaja.com It was the most fun I ever had in one day. One day there will be enough fail safes for self-driving cars they will be safer than human controlled vehicles. Last stop before coming home was always the Electra store where I would buy Libertads. I must have ten pounds of silver collecting dust here.
