Interesting read. I agree with this poster that North Sea oil did them in. Turn off the money and the misery of their system became the sledge hammer that tore down the wall. North Sea oil production took out the USSR. That's when the Soviet Union had to shut off the wells and went into a death spiral due to lack of foreign hard currency inflows. — AlbertaThug (@albertathug) May 2, 2022

The idea that USA won the cold war by forcing spending by USSR was always self-adulatory rubbish. But gullible suckers believe what they're told, same as now and for years/decades with the Russia Russia Russia mania. They are about to die in nuclear war conflagration but they still can't think. They believe their own group think like Heavens Gate cult, Jim Jones crowd, all sorts. It looks like the same mechanism as Stockholm Syndrome. Groupthink is an essential tribal survival mechanism for individuals within the group. Individuals who step away or defy, or merely disagree, will be put beyond the pale, excommunicated or executed. You can see it right here .... there's no reasoning by the Groupthinkers. Sure, they use words, form grammatically correct sentences, even make self-referential logical loops, but it's not reasoning that covers the whole situation. I've given up reasoning with them. They are set, as people were with the ramp up to WWI, and are unable to turn away. Looks as though the preppers were right. Russia cannot even slightly hold the line with conventional war against USA/NATO so they are either willing to surrender unconditionally, be disarmed, broken up, and occupied by NATO as far into Siberia as China gets to, or they go MAD. I guess they'll go MAD rather than allow the USA Empire, Barbarossa Boris, Liz Truss 'em up, and Herr Gruppenfuhrer Stoltenberg, Ursula von der Kraut, Klaus Schwab and Germany to take over. The escalation process could be just a few atomic bombs, or major city scale, or the whole lot. Maybe Russia will collapse and surrender. I doubt it. Americans started the war, are funding the war, arming the war, preventing settlement of the war, and profit from the war = not the taxpayers, citizens, but the arms suppliers, bribe takers such as Big Guy Joe10%, Hunter, Nancy over there getting her cut, Graham and no doubt swarms. Plus psychopaths with blood last. The End of the World so Hunter could get cash, cocaine, concubines. I prefer Tulsi, Trump, Rand Paul. Mqurice

Hmmm- if Russia has the newest shiniest military weapons, then why are they having so much trouble in Ukraine? You'd think that with such an advantage in weaponry plus the element of surprise, that Russia would be in & out of Ukraine instead of it dragging on. Now, of course, this might be propaganda - but if Russia has the latest and best weaponry, why are the using their aged crap weapons in Ukraine?

The information technology movement worldwide had as much impact. No longer could they hide behind censor shields and still compete economically. It was about the incredible microprocessor. Now Putin thinks he can go the China route and supply energy as currency. We will see in the coming decade whether communists running many of the largest green environmental movements in Europe can hoodwink them back on the Russia tit farm. We know India and China see the opportunity ahead and will do their best to raise their economies off cheap Russian sources.
