I'm waiting for warmer weather and steadier wind... but all my friends who've moved on to foils... the good ones can go out in just about any sort of wind.... It is pretty amazing but they ARE mostly younger, but there are some older who do well... so I'm still considering it. My friend who owns a shop says I should take one of her eFoil lessons first at her Alameda shop (too close to Oakland) to learn to ride on a foil... then take a few lessons at the Coyote Pt shop and rent gear to quickly progress above the beginner boards and foils... I'm tempted but if you watch this video, they mention a LOT of wingers get rescued by the Coast Guard when the wind dies and the current sucks them out to white shark territory...
