ST,

The $1.00 dividend was something that I mentioned and it was just a wild guess on my part. Keep in mind that if Joe is truly trying to end DCI as we know it by year end, the best way to do it is by selling off the pieces and making distributions. Joe has stated the parts are worth a lot more than the whole. By the way, Joe would like to end this thread and said he would post on the other thread from now on.

Best Regards

Some of you guys try my patience sometimes. My question was a hypothetical one: Does a company have to pay taxes on shares it receives from another company if those shares are subsequently distributed as a dividend?

Presumably they are not. Also, presumably, the receipt of such shares would not constitute a taxable event to the recipients until sold by those recipients. Under those circumstances I would guess that the shares could be held for a sufficient period of time and thus be treated as capital gains. Right or wrong? If you aren't an accountant with specific knowledge, let it go, all right? (Please). George E.

Please notice the gggg at the end of my post.I don't believe that anyone actually expects a dividend of that nature and probably none of any kind other than the one cent one already announced. I personally wish they would keep and invest that one.
