And Putin just woke one morning and in a totally mad, evil, murderous, completely unprovoked, cruel, genocidal, orc move invaded cute little lovely Azovs who were tilling the fields and being lovies.

The Maoris had been going their own way. Queen Victoria and co murdered them into submission.

Just like the Kievan Azovs, happily minding their own business.

It's amusing to read the massive ignorance expounded. Except that the idiocy is leading to nuclear Armageddon.

Tell me oh wise one, about Hongi Hika's holiday in the Bay of Plenty.

Maurice was too charitable. You should have paid attention.

The Maoris had been going their own way. Queen Victoria and co murdered them into submission.

About the Maoris going their own way:

Bay of Plenty Campaign, 1818–1819

In 1818 Hongi Hika led one of two Ngapuhi taua against East Cape and Bay of Plenty iwi Ngati Porou and Ngaiterangi. The taua returned in 1819 carrying nearly 2,000 captured slaves.

The Slave Trade Act of 1807 abolishing trade in slaves throughout the British Empire and the Slavery Abolition Act of 1833 abolishing the institution of slavery itself, are not relevant?

Queen Victoria came to the throne in 1837.

She inherited the first realm in the history of mankind that outlawed slavery and it did it only four years before her accession.

It was a big deal. No one, in, or near her empire was gonna do slavery no matter how colourful or romantic they might be.
