Well, if the GOP keeps up with political suicide like encouraging more power from coal, making abortions illegal in many states and perhaps also going after contraception and Newsom's power will expand, not contract. I believe the GOP stand on abortion is the single issue that prevents the party from having any voice in CA much less a chance of regaining power. Of course, I've said this issue would be their downfall since the 1980s and have been 100% accurate.
