Re: Young Folk Portfolio (edit) ...

I'm unable to edit the portfolio update, what is written stays written. I forgot to mention that in the YFP I sold positions in DUK and TU to make the SMH purchase. Since this is a 'growth' and income portfolio, the emphasis should be on growth. I think SMH will deliver more capital growth than DUK or TU.

Additionally, I'm not astute on technology. The average third grade student probably knows more about technology than I do and I have no interest in learning about it, so investing in SMH seemed the proper course of action for me to have the Information Technology sector represented.

Re: Young Folk Portfolio ... Adjustments

Today I sold the JNJ position and I spread the proceeds around in some of the other holdings in the account. JNJ was up 70% in capital gains and the sale generated $9,898.15 in cash to be reinvested elsewhere.

SELL:

JNJ ... 64 shares

BOUGHT:

DPZ .... 6 shares @ $315.10
SYY .... 26 shares @ $76.68
NEE ... 13 shares @ $74.26
NSC .... 4 shares @ $227.32
ELV ..... 2 shares @ $473.07
DG ...... 5 shares @ $219.31
HD ...... 3 shares @ $299.50
PG ...... 7 shares @ $140.83
TGT .... 1 share @ $165.83
SO ...... 1 share @ $64.87

This brings these positions up in size to:

PG ...... $10,718
HD ...... $10,676
DG ...... $10,502
ELV ..... $9,979
SYY .... $9,767
SO ...... $9,646
TGT .... $9,597
NEE .... $9,406
NSC .... $9,238
DPZ .... $9,196

Hi Chowder - Is SHW on the hot seat? At what point would you consider making changes with SHW with mediocre guidance and pretty insignificant dividend increase?

Thanks for your time
